ROADS MINISTER PROMISES OXLEY HIGHWAY FUNDING IS COMING
The state’s roads minister insists that $50-million, promised for work on the Oxley Highway, IS on its way.
The Baird Government has already spent 10-million on a safety upgrade for the road… and in March, it pledged 50-million for the stretch between Tamworth and Gunnedah, if re-elected.
“That money was to come from the sale of poles and wires. It hasn’t been sold yet, but as soon as it is sold that money will be coming in.”
The money will be spent on installing overtaking lanes, improving kerbs and fixing the road surface.
