COFFS COUNCIL TO HELP MARINE RESCUE MOVE

Coffs Harbour City Council has voted unanimously to help Woolgoolga’s Marine Rescue Unit relocate its base to Arrawarra Headland.

The state government will be asked to appoint the council as the corporate manager of the Arrawarra Headland Research Trust so it can co-ordinate the process.

A council spokesperson says the University of New England has agreed to share its research facility land on the headland with Marine Rescue.

The local Surf Lifesaving Club has plans to build a new clubhouse on the Woolgoolga site currently occupied by Marine Rescue.
