Hunter triathlete Aaron Royle has scored his first podium finish this year on the ITU series, claiming bronze in Sweden this morning.
The Australian emerged from the swim in third spot, and at one stage was in front on the bike.
In the run, Royle battled Joao Pereira from Portugal, with Spain’s Javier Gomez way out in front.
“Pereira gesturing to Royle to come past, but the Australian no interest he’s happy to sit in behind and wait for his moment to strike.”
That moment didn’t present itself, as Royle grabbed third.
