Searchers have found the body of a man at Queen’s Head near Port Macquarie.
A search began around 11 o’clock last night after police were told a man was in trouble in the Hastings River. A witness told police the man had been swept out of the river mouth and out to sea by a current.
The search, involving several helicopters, surf lifesavers and water police continued today and a man’s body was found around 2pm.
His identity in not known.
