Despite the rain experienced over the last week, the Liverpool Ranges will enter its bush fire danger period on Tuesday.
The Rural Fire Service is reminding Gunnedah, Liverpool Plains and Upper Hunter residents wishing to light fires, that a permit will be required.
However as always, lighting a fire will be prohibited on the day of a total fire ban.
Permits are free and can be obtained from all local fire stations.
