It all began with Tamworth’s Haslam family and now the push for the legalisation of medical marijuana is another small step closer, with Federal Senators expected to hold a vote later this year.
The Regulator of Medicinal Cannabis Bill needs to be passed in Canberra, to allow states and territories to change their own laws.
News of the potential date for the vote follows last week’s decision by the Victorian Government’s to sanction growth of the plant.
Advocates are hopeful that further clinical trials aren’t used as an excuse to delay the process.
