Addressing the issue of domestic violence will be the key focus of a new state parliament group, that was formed this week.
Member for Myall Lakes Stephen Bromhead has been elected as deputy chair.
Mr Bromhead hopes his involvement will help combat the problem locally.
It comes just weeks after $15,000 was provided to the Forster Neighbourhood Centre to help fund a women’s refuge.
