ROSEANNE BECKETT ASKED TO PAY COSTS BY NSW STATE GOVERNMENT
Two months after former Taree woman Roseanne Beckett was awarded more than $2.3-million for her malicious prosecution, the state is now saying she should pay its costs.
Ms Beckett, formerly known as Roseanne Catt, spent 10 years behind bars for soliciting the murder of her ex-husband Barry Catt.
Her conviction was quashed in 2005 and she successfully sued the state in August this year.
Barrister John Maconachie QC today told a costs hearing at the Supreme Court in Sydney that despite her success she should pay the state’s costs.
