The federal Member for Lyne has declined to say whether he agrees with Coffs Harbour MP Andrew Fraser’s call to close Australia’s borders, in the wake of the Paris attacks.
But David Gillespie says Australia should be prepared to stand up for its democratic freedoms.
“I’m not going to comment on individual members’ off the hip comments on Facebook,” Mr Gillespie said.
“We need to remember what we stand for in Australia.”a
