Newcastle Motorsport driver Aaren Russell has managed to hold onto 9th position in race one of the Dunlop V8 Supercars Series in Sydney.
Russell completed 11 laps in 26 minutes and 57 seconds, crossing just under half a second behind eighth placed driver, Cameron Waters.
The 24-year-old earned 84 points for his efforts and is currently sitting 66 points behind race leader, Paul Dumbrell.
