Newcastle trainer Kris Lees says his runner, Lucia Valentina, has never looked better, just a few days out from the Gold Cup in Hong Kong.
Lees arrived there on Monday and has been putting the mare through her paces ahead of the $4.5-million race, held over 2,000 metres.
The trainer says the five-year-old will have one more light run on Friday, before Damien Oliver takes the reins on Sunday.
