- A police officer has been shot with his own gun – after a scuffle with a patient inside a busy Sydney hospital. A 38-year-old man has since been charged.
- A suicide bomber who killed at least ten people in Istanbul is thought to have been a Syrian member of the jihadist group Islamic State. It’s believed the bomber entered Turkey through Syria, but wasn’t on Turkey’s watch list of suspected militants.
