MAN CHARGED AFTER SHOT FIRED IN CESSNOCK
A man has been charged after allegedly firing a shot at a home in Cessnock on Sunday.
About 3:45am, a man attended a home on Cumberland Street, and became involved in a verbal altercation with a woman.
Following the altercation, it’s alleged the man fired a shot into a home on Cumberland Street.
No one was injured during the accident.
Local police were notified and a search of the area for the man was conducted, however he was not found.
About 6pm on Sunday, Police executed a search warrant at a home on Desmond Street in Cessnock, where they allegedly seized an amount of ammunition.
About 7pm, Police attended a home on Callaghan Street in Kurri Kurri, shortly after officers arrested a 28-year-old at the home.
Following the arrest, officers searched the man and the home and allegedly located an amount of drugs, ammunition, fireworks, cash and other items.
The 28-year-old was charged with a string of offences. He has been refused bail and is due to appear at Maitland Court today.
