Two men have been charged, following an alleged machete attack at Windale where a 26-year-old man had his finger severed.

Police say on June 16, the 26-year-old went to a home at Balemo Crescent with a 37-year-old man.

He was allegedly struck three times with a machete by another man inside the house.

He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to John Hunter Hospital.
