HUNTERS WINNING WAYS CONTINUE AGAINST MANLY

In the Waratah Basketball League, Maitland suffered a heavy loss to Manly last night, but Newcastle was able to exact revenge for the region today.

The Hunters women continued their undefeated run with a hard-fought win over the Sea Eagles.

Newcastle was down by five at quarter time, but Sophie Kleeman produced a huge effort to turn things around.

She played every minute of the game, on her way to 24 points and 12 rebounds.

Alison Ebzery also made a big contribution with 12 points and 12 boards.

Meanwhile, the Hunters men were never in danger in their clash.

Josh Cohen had a huge game, leading all scorers with 21.

Russell Hinder added 20, while import Justynn Hammond finished with 17 points and 14 rebounds, as Newcastle won by 33.
