DRIVER ALLEGEDLY POSTS 120KPH IN 50KPH ZONE DURING SINGLETON PURSUIT
A man was injured earlier this week in the Hunter Valley after leading police on a pursuit where speeds allegedly reached 120kph in a 50kph zone.
Shortly before 11pm on Thursday, police observed a Holden sedan performing burnouts in John Street, Singleton.
A pursuit commenced when the Holden driver failed to stop for police.
During the pursuit, the Holden allegedly travelled at 120km/h in a 50km/h zone. The pursuit was then terminated for safety reasons.
Shortly after, police found that the Holden had struck a street sign on John Street, and the male driver was lying next to the vehicle.
The 39-year-old was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital.
He was later charged with failing to stop in a police pursuit, driving dangerously, exceeding the speed limit, and driving whilst disqualified.
The Singleton man will appear in court on Thursday 25 August.
