Port Macquarie-Hastings Council says the majority of local residents are responding well to the three bin system.
Director of Development and Environment, Matt Rogers is encouraging more to do the right thing though, particularly unit complexes.
“What we’ve found, is while recycling through the yellow bin is at quite a high level, there’s quite a bit of ground to be gained in terms of organics recycling.”
Council says education is key to encouraging more people to dispose of their rubbish responsibly.
