MAN ALLEGEDLY BITES SECURITY GUARD IN SURFERS PARADISE ASSAULT

An argument over a ticket has escalated into an an assault on the Gold Coast this morning.

Around 10.30am, it’s alleged a 34-year-old man got into an argument about a ticket with staff of a transport company on Beach Road in Surfers Paradise.

Police say the argument became disruptive to the business, and a security guard attempted to escort the man from the premises.

The man then allegedly spat at the security guard, and a physical altercation followed, during which the security guard was allegedly bitten on the arm.

The 34-year-old from Scrubby Creek was arrested and later charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and public nuisance.

The security guard received medical treatment for a bite and additional bruising and contusions.
