Union officials say Pacific National will cut a further 40 jobs in the Hunter, as part of more than 80 redundancies by the freight rail company across the state.
32 jobs will go from Port Waratah, and eight from Greta.
In a statement Pacific National says, “..we have commenced a consultation period with all of our people whose jobs may be affected.”
“It is important we have all of these conversations with our people first before we publicly comment on how many jobs may be affected.”
