TWO CHARGED FOLLOWING ASSAULT AT WARATAH
A man’s jaw has been fractured during an assault at Waratah last night.
The 33-year-old was leaving a hotel on Turton Road just after 9pm, when a younger man allegedly punched and kicked him in the face.
Police allege during the assault an older man took his wallet, while a woman was also set upon by the pair when she attempted to intervene.
The man was taken to John Hunter Hospital for treatment.
Police later arrested two 28-year-old men nearby. One is facing charges of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, robbery in company and common assault, while the other was charged with robbery in company.
