QUEENS LAKE SAFE FOR SWIMMING AGAIN

Queens Lake, south of Port Macquarie, is safe again for swimming and other water activities, following a sewage spill.

The leak came from a ruptured pipe at the Christmas Cove Caravan Park at Lakewood last week.

Port Macquarie-Hastings Council has been monitoring the water quality, and says bacteria levels have now returned to a safe level for recreational use.

But oyster growers will need to wait for approval from the Department of Primary Industries before resuming operations.
