DRIVER ALLEGEDLY FIVE-TIMES OVER THE LIMIT WITH 11-YEAR-OLD DAUGHTER IN THE CAR

A male driver will face local court after being involved in a head-on collision and returning an alleged blood-alcohol reading more than five times the legal limit on the Central Coast.

Around 9:30am yesterday, two vehicles travelling in the same direction on the Central Coast Highway collided in West Gosford.

No one was injured in the collision, but police allege the driver of the Holden Commodore, a 50-year-old man from Clare, tried to leave the scene but was found a short distance away.

The male driver had his 11-year-old daughter in the vehicle at the time.

He was arrested and a subsequent breath analysis returned an alleged reading of 0.277.

He will face local court on 8 March.
