Heavy Easter traffic on the north coast around Coffs Harbour and Macksville is causing extensive delays for motorists returning home after the holiday break.
At Macksville southbound traffic banked up for 14 kilometres to Nambucca Heads in the north.
Police are urging drivers to take their time and be patient, reminding motorists that double-demerit points are in place until midnight tonight.
