FAMILIES WASTING THOUSANDS IN FOOD WASTE
At a time when household budgets are increasingly tight, it’s been revealed the average family is throwing away almost $4000 worth of food each year.
A new EPA study is now enlisting households to log their scraps, to find out exactly what we are throwing away, and why.
“If we can reduce our food waste we can actually make it easier on people’s pockets and we can make sure we do good things for our environment,” said NSW Environment Minister Gabrielle Upton.
Experts say the best way to reduce food waste is to plan meals, shop to a list, eat left overs and freeze your food.
