WITNESSES SOUGHT AFTER HAMILTON ASSAULT
A man is in hospital after being assaulted in the early hours of Friday morning in a Newcastle suburb.
Police say a 35-year-old man left a hotel on Beaumont Street in Hamilton with a group of friends at around 2:30am on Friday, when an argument broke out with another man on Cleary Street, and the 35-year-old man was assaulted.
He suffered head injuries and was taken to John Hunter Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Police would now like to speak to a man who may be able to assist with their enquiries.
He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, in his 20s and was wearing jeans, a white t-shirt and black jacket at the time.
Any witnesses to the assault are also being asked to come forward.
