BELLINGEN SHIRE TO FACE WATER RESTRICTIONS
The continuing dry spell on the north coast is placing pressure on the region’s water supplies.
The Bellingen Shire Council says it is now considering the introduction of water restrictions.
Its two sources of water, the Bellinger and Bielsdown rivers, are experiencing low flows and with no substantial rain forecast, Level-1 restrictions could come as soon as this week.
The council says residents are likely to face restricted use of garden hoses and sprinklers.
