NEWCASTLE PUBLIC TRANSPORT UNDERGOES TIMETABLE OVERHAUL
Major changes to Newcastle’s public transport system have come into effect.
Newcastle Transport service provider Keolis Downer claim that more than 1,000 additional bus and ferry services each week are now available to people in the region.
Changes to the system were based on Opal data, community consultation, and expert knowledge.
Parliamentary Secretary for the Hunter, Scot MacDonald said the changes would help make public transport a popular option for Newcastle commuters, and includes a 38% increase in ferry frequencies, and an additional 200 bus services on Saturday and Sunday.
