Former CT star Matt Banting has confirmed he’ll compete at Surfest.
The Port Macquarie surfer fell off the world tour in 2016, was dropped by his sponsor, and didn’t compete on the QS last year due to a pelvic injury.
“It’s re-stoked the fire within me. I have a new sense of drive. And a new reason for doing it kind of thing.”
“I’m kind of just doing it for myself. I’m feeling as hungry as I’ve ever felt, which is good.”
Banting won the Burton Automotive Pro in 2014, and made the semis in 2016.
