WOODWARD OFF TO COMMONWEALTH GAMES

Mingara’s Brad Woodward has sealed the deal for his Commonwealth Games debut.
The 19-year-old has been named in Australia’s 49-member swimming squad after his strong performance at the Australian Swimming Trials on the Gold Coast.
Woodward finished second in the men’s 200-metre backstroke, behind Olympic silver medallist Mitch Larkin.
It follows his runner-up result in the 100-metre backstroke.
