HUNTER LIFESAVERS HAPPY WITH SUMMER SEASON
Hunter lifesavers were certainly kept busy this summer, with hundreds of surf rescues carried out along the coast.
Thankfully, there were NO drownings at patrolled beaches in the Hunter.
“Caves Beach they had a major issue there for a while, if we go up to Birubi there were four, uh no, seven persons dragged out of the surf there and all needed oxygen, all saved by the volunteer surf lifesavers.”
Further south, two people drowned at Frazer Park near Catherine Hill Bay.
