SAWTELL WOMEN TOO GOOD FOR NAMBUCCA

Meanwhile the Panthers were too strong for the Nambucca Roosters in the Women’s League Tag match played at Sawtell ahead of the men’s first grade.

Leading 18-nil at half time the Panthers went on to take out the match 36 to four.

Panthers club president Wal Klaassen says the women’s competition has added a new dimension to an afternoon of footy.

“it also brings a lot of children, parents, so it’s really beneficial for Sawtell, it’s just a different mix of the crowd you get and the players they all seem to enjoy it and the men as you can see get here and support them.”
