FREE TESTING FOR HOMES THOUGHT TO CONTAIN LOOSE FULL ASBESTOS
It was used as cheap ceiling insulation in the 1960s and 70s – but loose-fill asbestos has become an expensive problem and a health risk.
The New South Wales Government is now offering free testing on houses, thought to contain loose fill or raw-crushed asbestos, after at least one house at Lake Macquarie was identified.
The government has set aside millions of dollars to buy affected houses, and demolish them.
