It started as an attempt for the perfect picture, but ended with a young woman in hospital, after she fell down a waterfall in the Glenrock State Park.
The 18-year-old left a walking track to stand out on the waterfall edge, posing for a photo.
She lost her footing and fell about five metres onto rocks, briefly losing consciousness.
With a medical team winched in, the patient was assessed and stabilised.
The young woman was airlifted to John Hunter Hospital in a stable condition, suffering head, pelvic and leg injuries.
