Extreme heat is forecast for most of Northern New South Wales on Sunday, with temperatures in the mid-to-high 30’s expected across the broadcast area.
Newcastle is heading for a top of 36 degrees, the Hunter Valley 38, while the mercury could soar above 40 in some parts of the North West.
The rural fire service has declared a total fire ban, stretching from the Hunter to the Queensland border.
