MAN ARRESTED AT NEWCASTLE HOME FOR ONLINE CHILD GROOMING
A man who is accused of inappropriately engaging with a girl, he thought was 14-years-old, has been arrested at a Lambton home.
Since January 2018, the 22-year-old man allegedly initiated sexually explicit conversations and sent indecent material to officers of the Child Exploitation Internet Unit (CEIU), posing as the girl.
A computer, mobile and video game console, along with USB drives and other electronic devices, were seized by investigators on Tuesday morning, during the arrest.
He has been charged with using a carriage service to groom persons under 16 years of age.
Granted strict conditional bail, he is due to appear at Newcastle Local Court on 11 April.
