Lake Macquarie Mayor Kay Fraser is demanding the State Government release the expert report it used, when deciding to close the Myuna Bay Sport and Recreation facility.
“As a council, we wanna have a look at it and we wanna be involved in what’s happening out there, and we want a seat at the table and that hasn’t happened.” – Kay Fraser, Lake Macquarie Mayor.
Acting Sport Minister Geoff Lee announced the centre would not reopen earlier this week, Origin Energy to fund a replacement.
The popular facility was closed suddenly in March, due to concerns nearby Eraring Power Station’s ash dam could fail in a major earthquake.
