TWO WOMEN ESCAPE SINKING CAR NEAR LISMORE

Two women have scrambled through the window of their 4WD, in a frantic escape as it sank in floodwaters in the state’s north.

They had checked local websites which said the road was safe, but suddenly found the vehicle filling with water, a driver behind filming their ordeal.
