SUSPENDED DRIVER CHARGED WITH HIGH RANGE DRINK DRIVING
A man has been charged with high-range drink driving after allegedly crashing his car into a power pole at Lake Macquarie yesterday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to Princes Street at Bonnells Bay just after 4 o’clock, after reports a car crashed into a pole and brought down live wires.
When police arrived, the 36-year-old driver allegedly threatened them.
Police restrained the man and conducted a roadside breath test, which returned positive.
He was arrested and taken to Toronto Police Station where he returned an alleged reading of 0.185.
The man was charged with high-range PCA, refusing to disclose his identity, driving while having a suspended licence, and resisting arrest.
He’s due to appear at Toronto Local Court on October 13.
