POLICE SEARCH OUTLAW GANGS IN NEW ENGLAND REGION

Outlaw motorcycle gang members have been targeted in a police operation in the New England region.

Throughout September, officers established Operation Jerichos to target the disruption of outlaw motorcycle gang related crime in the Oxley Police District.

As part of ongoing inquiries, detectives served three Firearm Prohibition Orders at homes in Tamworth, South Tamworth and Kootingal on Friday.

Subsequently, police conducted searches at three homes in Tamworth, two in Gunnedah and one in Kootingal.

Officers found knuckle dusters, a zombie knife, and steroids.

Oxley Police District Commander, Superintendent Kylie Endemi, said police will continue to target criminal networks in the region.

“We rely on the community to be our eyes and ears on the street, and if you have any information that could help with our investigation – we want to speak to you.”

Investigations are continuing.
