GAV’S WEATHER | UNSETTLED THURSDAY
The large cloud band still stretches across the country.
This very typical of a La Nina weather pattern is now likely to cause flooding in parts of Victoria overnight and tomorrow.
When atmospheric conditions are right large amounts of moisture gets drawn from the tropics to central Australia, this current event will largely miss the region.
The reason we will miss out is because a low has formed today and will deepen overnight triggering dangerous weather systems and strong winds for the south-east.
The low will move into Bass Strait and take everything with it.
Locally, expect strong north west to north-east winds to develop.
Skies will be cloud affected and a few showers and a possible storm as the remnants of the system inland passes over.
