CENTRAL COAST CANCER SERVICES BOOSTED WITH LINEAR ACCELERATOR

The Central Coast’s cancer-fighting capability has been boosted, with a new linear accelerator unveiled at Gosford Hospital.
The technology allows doctors to target cancerous cells and avoid healthy tissue.
It’s the third machine of its kind at the local Cancer Centre and is expected to cut down wait times for radiotherapy.
The $3.8 million machine was funded by the federal government.
