Preventing any further flooding of Lake Cathie was council’s mission this morning, after water levels went above one-point-six metres.
Sand was scraped away from the beach berm, to allow floodwater to escape.
Nearby footpaths and drains saw minor flooding, however there was no risk to homes in the area.
Port Macquarie-Hastings Council says it won’t be opening the lake at this stage.
