Another step has been taken towards future-proofing Tamworth’s water supply.

The 18.3 kilometre pipe will replace the existing one between Dungowan Dam and Tamworth.

MPC Kinetic will undertake the project, with construction expected to kick off in early 2022.

“It’s actually the contractor that did the Chaffey pipeline that was an emergency provision because of the drought. So, someone that’s familiar with local businesses and the local community. We’re talking 30 businesses and probably 70 workers at any time.”

The total cost of the project is not yet known.
