EIGHT NEWBORN PUPPIES RESCUED AFTER BEING FOUND DUMPED AT WEIR
Volunteers at Tamworth’s ‘Heaven Can Wait’ Animal Shelter were faced with a heartbreaking delivery this morning.
Eight newborn puppies, with their umbilical cords still attached, were brought to the shelter after being found dumped outside Manilla Weir.
The tiny litter is believed to be less than 12 hours old.
After calling for help on social media, the shelter says it was soon inundated with messages of support.
“It’s just a sign of the volunteers and the followers that we have… and the animal lovers that are out there. People, when needed, are really willing to step up and help, which is wonderful.”
The puppies will be raised by two local foster families until they’re ready for adoption.
