PORT STEPHENS MAN CHARGED OVER SUPPLYING DRUGS

A Nelson Bay man remains behind bars after charged with supplying drugs in the Hunter region.

Detectives searched a unit on King Street in Newcastle on Thursday and found methylamphetamine, GHB – often known as ‘liquid ecstasy’ – mobile phones and more than $135,000 in cash.

There they arrested a 35-year-old man, and a 28-year-old woman, who was wanted for a breach of bail offence.

Both were taken down the road to Newcastle Police Station where the man was charged with a number of offences, including supplying a large commercial quantity of a prohibited drug.

The woman was charged with possessing a prohibited drug and breaching bail.

The man was refused bail to appear at Newcastle Local Court today, while the woman was granted conditional bail to appear at Wyong Local Court in June.
