Motorcylists are being urged to slow down and take care on our roads, after a dramatic increase in fatalities this year.
New South Wales’ motorcycle road toll has risen by 50 percent in the past seven months alone.
More than half of those died as a result of excessive speed.
Minister for Regional Transport and Roads, Paul Toole, says the majority of fatalities are occurring on country roads.
“It’s a reminder to all our motorcyclists out there on the roads, to make sure that you drive to the conditions, stick to the speed limit and please make sure you wear a helmet and protective gear.”
Motorcycle accidents account for around 60 deaths and more than 1,000 serious injuries in New South Wales each year.
