A 65-year-old sailor has been found alive, after drifting at sea for almost three days.
Bill Valient was spotted by a coal ship off Catherine Hill Bay, south of Newcastle, before being towed to safety by police late this afternoon.
He originally set sail from Port Stephens on Sunday, and was heading for Hexham when he disappeared.
