Two charged after break and enter investigation
A 38-year-old man and 45-year-old woman have been charged with several property and driving offences following an investigation by the Lake Macquarie Proactive Crime Team.
About 10.20am yesterday Tuesday September 26, police were patrolling Sturt Street, Swansea, when they attempted to stop a black Honda Accord sedan.
When the vehicle allegedly failed to stop as directed, a pursuit was initiated, continuing through Pelican, Blacksmiths and Murrays Beach, where the vehicle came to a stop.
The driver was arrested at the scene before being taken to Belmont Police Station.
Following extensive inquiries, police found the Blacksmiths man was allegedly linked to three break and enters that occurred over recent weeks in Catherine Hill Bay, Valentine, and Blacksmiths.
Following further inquiries, a Swansea woman was arrested at the John Hunter Hospital about 1pm yesterday Tuesday September 26, after allegedly being linked to a break and enter in Blacksmiths and Valentine.
Both were refused bail to appear before Belmont Local Court today.
