More than 250 residents of a Fern Bay retirement village today called on the state government to urgently upgrade safety on Nelson Bay Road.
The local MP, RTA, and police heard the group’s concerns, along with the head of a bus company at the centre of the debate.
The meeting came after an 11-year-old girl was left fighting for life when hit by a car when a bus dropped her at the side of the road.
All but four buses now go into Bayway Village to drop passengers off, but four peak services don’t because it’s impossible for the drivers to return to the road safel
