Qantas has teamed up with another Australian icon. Silverchair’s Daniel Johns has written the theme song for the airline’s new television commercials.
The frontman of the Newcastle-bred band wrote the new track titled ‘Atlas’ in collaboration with the Australian Chamber Orchestra to replace the former iconic theme song ‘I still call Australia home.’
He has previously dabbled in orchestral projects with Beach Boys collaborator Van Dyke Parks on recent Silverchair albums.
Johns who split with his Silverchair band mates last year, says he agreed to the project because he liked the idea of creating a piece of music that represented Australia.
